Spring Arrives today

Parents:

Spring is here, finally. Today is the first day of spring and hopefully all the snow is behind us. We talked about spring and signs of spring to look for. A great activity to do with your child is to go outside and walk around your yard or a park and look for the signs that spring is here. Make sure to ask your children questions about what they see and have them answer in a complete sentence. It is important to help your child use a complete sentence when talking with you. We are working on this in class.

Vocabulary is very important during this stage of your child’s life. You can really help your child grow simply by talking to them. Don’t take for granted that they know what something is called, ask them. A trip to the store is a great place to start teaching new words to your child. You can help them build their vocabulary every time you talk with them. We all need to remember to put our phone’s down and talk with our children.

Thanks for sending in the reading logs. Reading each night helps build vocabulary.

Spring Is Near.......Hopefully!!!!!!

What a wild week. We have had at least 4 kids out sick each day. Parents have been reporting the stomach flu, sore throat and coughing. Courtney has even been out all week with the flu.  Please remember that your child needs to be fever free for at least 24 hours without medicine to come to school. Hopefully Spring is just around the corner and the nice fresh air will help everyone.

We are just about done with our ABC's. We will be spending the weeks after break reviewing our letters.  Starfall.com is a great site for this review. It gives a variety of activities for each letter as well as the sound. You can help your child review by asking them letters using things around the house as well as signs on the road.

Most of the children are finishing their morning work. If you get a paper home in the Friday folder and it say "Please Finish", this is work they did not complete at school. I will only send home work that they had time to finish.  If something comes home not complete, but has no note then it does not need to be returned. I am working on getting them ready for next year.

I will be adding things to the sign up genius for some additional taste testing we will be doing after we are finished with the ABC's. I want them to try new things. We are also in need of girl things for our store. Nail polish and hair things are great as well as board games.
