Monday,Wednesday & Friday 4's Preschool Class

Parents:

Mrs. Clifford, the person who took my place while I was gone last week sent me an e mail about how well the kids did and how she really enjoyed the class. Your kids did a great job. We have had a couple of kids out sick the last couple of classes. It seems we have colds and some strep throat going around. Just a reminder your child must be fever free for 24 hours without medicine  before they can come back to school. I have been talking to the children about the proper way to cough ( into their elbow) and also about washing their hands often.

Our field trip is coming up on Monday, October 14th. The trip is to the Waterman's Farm. We meet at the farm at 9am and will go in as a group. We do some activities and then have a snack. We will dismiss from Waterman's around 11 am and you will have the rest of the day to spend with your child. This is not a full day of school for any of the preschoolers. Look for more information to come home in this weeks Friday's folder.

The homework is coming in very nice. Remember I will be keeping the letter papers until the end of the year.  You will received a "book" of the letters to keep at the year end conference. Please send in all letter pages, even if you have some late ones. Make sure to put pictures of things that begin with the letter on the back of the paper. They can either be cut or drawn.

Label all coats, jackets, sweaters and towels.

Have a Great Week

Week of September 9 Tuesday/Thursday Class

Another great week in preschool.  The children are settling down very nice and doing a great job at following procedures. We are working on the SmartBoard each day at centers. We have been working on our colors and shapes. Ask your child how they liked it.  Manners will be our theme all month long and we will be reading books and doing activities about manners and sharing with our friends.  The rice centers has also been open at centers this week. We are always looking for donations of rice (just plain white rice) to refill our rice table as when it lands on the floor, I sweep it up and throw it away.

Please remember to send in Box Tops.  All money collected will go towards a new playground. There is a contest for collecting the most per class  and it will end in October, so please save and send in your Box Tops.

As the weather gets colder don't forget to send in jackets and as always label your jackets.  Keep sending in the reading logs. The kids got suckers today for turning in their reading logs. Thanks for all you do. This is a great class and very fun to teach.

God Bless

Tuesday Thursday Preschool Class- Week of September 2nd

The children are all doing well with their morning procedures, hanging up backpacks, checking in, going to the restroom and washing their hands and then coming in finding their seat and beginning their morning work. We stand for the prayer and pledges and then all sit down and listen to Mrs. Parsons on the announcements.  After the announcements are finished they sit and finish their morning work.  We then go to circle and do some movement and talk about our day.  Next we have centers. We do different activities at each center. Centers are from 8:15 to 9:30 every Tuesday and Thursday. We can always use parent help.  If you are interested please send me an e mail. After centers we go to the gym and play games, then back to the room or outside. Ask your child about their day. Please remember to send back the reading logs the following Thursday. Label all clothes. Please send jackets when necessary as we go outside to play. Hope this gives you an idea of our morning. Any questions please e mail: kflynn@holyspirit-indy.org
